Aadhay Adhooray Khwab” is such an attention grabbing piece of writing that once you start it, you cannot stop reading till its last page. Blended with the passions of love and affection the novel describes contemporary social crisis of Pakistan and ‘formal’ teaching strategies through a very informal method. Being a student of teacher education, this aspect of the novel was more important. The writer has explained technicalities of teaching methodology in an interesting and simplest way for a common reader in general and for a teacher in particular. One can easily learn pedagogical leadership after reading this novel. The novel gives strategies to engage students in the teaching learner process in an interesting and effective manner. The way the author has underlined the characteristics of a good teacher by using powerful metaphors is simply amazing.

The characters of the novel are derived for the real life. The characters are presented in such a way that they become inevitable for a community that wants to transform its value through education. The character of Prof. Saharan Roy has been portrayed as a role model which is a basic characteristic of a teacher. Imtisall Aga a young potential teacher meets with the professor and gets inspired by his ideas and activism. The character of Imtishal Aga represents the groups of individuals who want to implement the ideas of their inspirer and bring change in the society.

Although the tragic end of the Professor Roy’s character makes reader emotional and grief, the way his ‘real’ students started her professional life in the remote area, is the beginning of the fulfillment of Professor’s dreams.

I am glad that students of education in general and teacher education in particular would have a lot of things that could be taken from this novel to understand the concepts of teaching. I congratulate Dr. Shahid Siddiquei and offer my gratitude to him on gifting us such an inspiring piece of writing in our national language.
